Usually what I suggest is to browse through some previous class
schedules and look for the same course with the same professor. Once
you find it then click on the link and it will show you the details

it will be really helpful if you attend the orientation. you will come to know lots of things
about SDSU, international student life in US and of course u get a chance to make new friends and
look for roommates (if u haven't found any).

well there is the requirement of taking atleast 9 credits (3 courses mostly) for a graduate full
time students, and for TAs they can take 6 credits (2 courses) as they have extra load for
teaching. i would advise you to take 9 credits only if you are working 20 hrs/week.

yes your figures are correct. $1088 is registration fees per semester, $282 per unit and minimum 9
units are mandetory for an international student to be full time. also don't forget your insurance
which is around $530 per year. i don't know where you got the number of 8 units, but as far as i
know it's minimum 9 units.

it's all mere luck to get visa. yah we are all here on student visa and none is citizen (yet !!).
yah, it really increases your chances to get visa if you get admit in high ranked university, but it doesn't mean that they don't give visa for low ranked university. what you have to do is be prepared for some good questions aobut the university, like

for the on campus job scenario here, it's been pretty good so far, but now it's not being so
welcoming these days, as california state is going through a budget problems. but if you try hard
and target some good places, you will definitely end up with an on campus job. some of the good

the only thing i can say here is san diego state university is not any of the ranked universities, but as beign a state university, it has very low tuition fees as everything, even if there is a tremendous increase in tuition for last one year. there are pretty fare chances to get an oncampus job here, but TA/RA/GAs are very rare in comp sci dept.
